Damn I hate this computer!!!
Dell makes some pretty nice computers, but this laptop that I got from work sure as hell isn't one of them! It's really heavy, but it's just your typical Celeron with a 14" LCD, so nothing top-of-the-line. It has a read-only CD-ROM (that's right, not even a burner nevermind DVD), and it only has an 18gig hard drive!! Are you kidding me?! Of course, the USB ports are only 1.1, so if I wanted to copy anything onto a USB drive it would take forever.
Now the CD-ROM keeps feeling out of the laptop (yes, the entire damn drive), so I've just resorted to leaving it out of the laptop. And oh yeah, you can't deactivate the touchpad, so everyone once in a while when I'm typing I'll accidentally brush against the touchpad with my wrist and erase a bunch of text!! Awesome.
Finally, it gets hot as all hell! I swear if I keep this thing on my lap for more than ten minutes I will lose the ability to have kids. And then the fan goes on to try and cool this thing, so it's loud as a mother! And this is without doing anything, if I simply leave the laptop sitting on a table with the LCD powered down it gets this hot!!
I need to get my own laptop.
